Cheek piercings will NEVER heal properly, in most cases. Just because your cheeks are obviously two of the most active parts of your body, so they never really get time to ‘rest’ and heal up really well. In saying that, it doesn’t mean they’re a complete hassle. I had mine in for aboutttt…8-9 months? I’d have good days and bad days, where they’d be perfectly fine and look/feel healed, other days they’d be yucky and sore.
Clean them every day with warm water and salt. Wash your mouth out with mouth wash so it kills any bacteria around the inside of your cheek. When you decide to downsize to smaller bars, make sure they’re not too tight, otherwise it’ll irritate the piercing and it won’t be able to breathe.
I got mine for the sole purpose of creating dimples, which I got :]] but also I just got so over them not healing properly. They’re a very high maintenance piercing, but if you look after them properly, you won’t have any major problems with them.
